IT SYSTEMES a committed company
The relocation of IT SYSTEMES' head office in October 2022 represented a change of dimension and a turning point for the company. Indeed, we have taken this opportunity to intensify a number of concrete CSR-related actions, namely reducing our environmental impact and improving the comfort of our employees.
CSR actions that are good for the planet, but not only!
IT SYSTEMESsupported by a specialist company, has decided to draw up a CSR report for 2022 and to set up a CSR commission within its structure. The aim of this committee is to organize and structure our sustainable development approach, which is integrated into the overall strategy of IT SYSTEMES.
All our partners play a key role in driving and achieving our sustainability objectives. We see our ecosystem of partners as part of a truly inseparable unit. By developing solid relationships with our partners, customers, employees and local communities, we reinforce the quality and effectiveness of our actions.
CSR investments by IT SYSTEMES
Our commitments must be translated into concrete action. The adoption of new working methods and processes often requires material investment. Aware of this necessity, we have chosen to allocate investments within the framework of CSR and, with a view to our 2022 balance sheet, to record them from the beginning of 2022.
The development of our new head office in Malakoff represented the majority of our CSR investment in 2022. It was the fruit of considerable reflection in terms of environmental impact. Out of a total investment of around 150 k€, 50 k€ was devoted to the various CSR-related items described below:
- Even though square meters are precious in the Paris region, we have invested in an attractive break room with table soccer, screen, sofas, games console, etc. In order to be able to offer a break space that meets our employees' wishes...
- The kitchen has received special attention in terms of comfort and well-being.
- The purchase of second-hand furniture and armchairs from an eco-responsible recycling company
- LED lighting
- Presence detectors in toilets
- Meeting room equipped with a high-performance videoconferencing system to encourage employees to use this mode of communication and limit travel.
- The installation of flush toilets with double push-buttons and aerator on washbasin taps also aims to limit water consumption.
- The coffee machine and water cooler have been connected to the network to optimize resource use.
- Setting up a coffee capsule collection system
- IT SYSTEMES set up an adapted workstation for one of our disabled employees
- All employees supplied with a personalized coffee mug to eliminate the need for cups
- Provision of crockery to avoid disposables
- Setting up automated computer screen standby mode
- IT SYSTEMES has set aside a budget for greening its offices, with maintenance provided by a volunteer employee.
- The installation of individual lockers with padlocks has provided a secure space for employees' personal belongings.
Our daily CSR commitment
Electrical energy consumption: We have set up a monitoring system to measure energy consumption. Regular monitoring and the setting of relevant targets for continuous improvement enable us to manage a fundamental aspect of our CSR approach. In addition to reminding employees of the right gestures and practices, the introduction of simple, automatic settings such as the automatic switching off of screens from 8pm to 8am proves our determination to find every possible source of savings, without disrupting our employees' work.
Water consumption: Water is only used for domestic purposes (cooking and sanitary facilities) and is therefore limited. Consumption is monitored mainly to detect any leaks, and by providing regular information to employees to avoid wastage.
Employee travel: whenever necessary, we give priority to video meetings, providing our employees with the latest generation tools. We have drawn up a charter of good travel practices to raise awareness among our employees of the most appropriate mode of transport in terms of greenhouse gas emissions before each trip. For example, for all journeys of less than 3 hours, employees must give preference to the train.
Household waste recycling procedure: We have set up a selective sorting system in our kitchen, which is well respected (3 bins: bottles / cardboard-plastic / all waste). The CSR commission has already identified the risks of waste being misdirected along the waste disposal chain, particularly at the exit of our premises (training of cleaning staff) and in the common areas of the condominium. However, in 2023, the CSR commission will be looking into the flows for which we are the driving force, to ensure that we are following good practice in this area.
IT hardware recovery: This is THE CSR committee's area of work, as traceability in this particular area does not suit us. Our benchmark IT partner has begun a CSR initiative in 2022 to recover end-of-life hardware. The objective for 2023 is to find the best synergies between our 2 companies to quantify, trace and improve a fundamental process in our business.
Paper consumption :
- All computers are set up for B&W and duplex printing. Color copies represent only 30% of total annual copies. Print tracking tool enabling us to set concrete targets in this area for the coming years
- The dematerialization of invoices and the maximum number of documents contributes to a reduction in the number of copies and paper consumed.
- Since July 2022, the 100% dematerialization of documents with the support of electronic signatures via Docusign has enabled us to eliminate paper and optimize document archiving.
Responsible purchasing :
- Photocopier paper: We prefer FSC or PEFC paper.
- Cleaning products: The CSR approach adopted by the company providing cleaning services for our premises was a decisive factor in our choice. Our service provider assured us that each type of product is subject to research if an ECOLABEL label or specific biodegradability criteria exist.
- IT equipment: We are committed to investing in IT equipment that has been awarded the "EnergyStar" label.
Encouraging apprenticeship: At IT SYSTEMES, we give priority to training and take bets on the future through professionalization and apprenticeship contracts, which represent up to 12% of our workforce.
PS: there's nothing like a great Windows sweater for training and team building :)
Gender parity: The IT world is predominantly male, and despite our best efforts, IT SYSTEMES is no exception to the rule. We pay close attention to our overall workforce, and in particular to its breakdown by structure and job profile. This is an important indicator of the social aspect of our organization.
Valuing seniors: Even though 18-34 year-olds make up more than 50% of our workforce, as is the case for male/female parity, we are careful to combat preconceived ideas and are convinced of the richness that comes from the plurality of experience.
Combating disability: IT SYSTEMES hired a severely disabled employee in November 2021. This choice was not made in the name of positive discrimination, but because this candidate had real skills and matched the expectations of the position for which he was applying. Since then, we have continued to congratulate ourselves on having made this choice for our employee and because, over and above his suitability for the position, the company has promoted its values to all the company's employees, proving to everyone that disability can enrich us all.
Occupational health and safety: IT SYSTEMES is committed to taking all necessary precautions to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all its employees. Due to the company's tertiary activity, we had no work-related accidents in 2022. In 2023, the CSR Commission has set itself the target of focusing on ways of thinking in this area through collegial discussions and exchanges with all the company's employees.
Staff training, career management and well-being: IT SYSTEMES attaches great importance to these subjects, which are essential within the company. HR tools enable us to monitor and set objectives with all our employees.
Everyday actions that do good :
- For Christmas 2022, we decided to invest in a wooden Christmas tree, reusable every year. It may not have been green with thorns, but that didn't stop Santa from dropping presents at the foot.
- In 2023, management put in place a call for projects within IT Systèmes. Each employee could present a professional, personal and/or humanitarian project; through a short video. All the videos were then put to an internal vote, and the winner was awarded €5,000 to implement his or her project. Anthony won with his great project: to organize an IT Systems Virtual Reality video game tournament to have a good time and maintain cohesion between teams at different sites. Part of the prize money will also be donated to the CapGame association, which facilitates access to video games for people with disabilities. Well done Anthony for this great project. We can't wait to organize the tournament!
