What is it?

• BYOK (Bring Your Own Key): this is a capability that enables companies to use their own encryption keys to secure their data in the Cloud.
• ‍CMK (Customer-Managed Key): companies have full control over encryption keys and their lifecycle.
• HSM (Hardware Security Module): a physical device that securely manages encryption keys.
• KeyVault: is a password and key management service that secures, stores and centrally manages encryption keys, passwords and certificates in highly secure key vaults, using the FIPS 140-2 standard.

This combination offers maximum control over data security. Companies can manage and control their own encryption keys, ensuring greater security, confidentiality and compliance for their sensitive data stored in SaaS and IaaS environments.

We often use Cipher Trust (Thales) to store the keys enabling the company to avoid this responsibility, without handing it over to non-French players such as Microsoft, Google or AWS; but by being able to take advantage of the best of these players.
