What is retention?
Retention is a standard feature of some solutions, enabling you to retrieve a document that has been inadvertently deleted, or following the loss of hardware, or a change of peripheral, etc. 🧑💻
If you delete an e-mail, you can always find it again (theoretically) and restore it. 🙏
False manipulation happens to everyone, and if you realize it, it's cool. 😊
But first, your documents are your responsibility.
And secondly, external attacks get a lot of media coverage, but what about internal threats?
An employee who voluntarily deletes data before leaving.... 🤯😠
This is where safeguarding is essential!
Host data on another physical site for a fixed period of time, with several backup points (so as to be able to start again from a sound backup in the event of an attack, as we know that ransomware sometimes remains "asleep" for months), on a perimeter ranging from documents to users and possibly even servers. 🙂
The aim: to be able to restore everything in the event of a problem. And computer problems do happen! 🥲
As they say, "the unexpected is what happens when everything has been planned", so anticipate as much as you can! 🙂
And since it's 2023, you've stopped sending faxes even though they were a daily occurrence, so for backup, I promise, there's better than daily tapes😊
